Most inspiring thing about your work? Seeing how happy people become when they begin to improve their overall financial wellness. It’s often little things, like paying off credit card debt or finally starting to save for the future, that bring our clients joy.
What are you passionate about? It may sound corny, but I truly enjoy helping others – especially doing things that can improve their lives or make them a little bit happier.
What makes you feel financially empowered? Knowledge of key financial concepts is the number one way I feel financially empowered. And simple things, like understanding compound interest and how it makes money grow, and knowing my credit score and why it is important.
A big financial lesson you’ve learned? I learned the power of compound interest early in my career and it helped me make good decisions about saving for my retirement. I took advantage of my company’s 401k match and it paid off many years later.
The last book you read? I joined a crew team on Greenwood Lake a couple of years ago, so I just had to read The Boys in the Boat. It’s about the State of Washington row team and their quest for Olympic Gold. It was a fabulous read!
Favorite thing to do that fits your budget? Hiking with my dog and friends. It’s free, a great workout, and a chance to really connect with people you might not get to spend quality time with otherwise.
Tropical Island, mountains, museum, or cruise? Mountains. I love hiking and being outdoors and you get both of those, and so much more, in the mountains!
Words to live by? Work hard and be nice to others.
